| Exploring the sandstone slot canyons of central Utah. This one was so deep and narrow, the sun could barely penetrate to the bottom and we needed headlamps to be able to see. It's narrower than your feet at the bottom of the slot, so you have to climb up higher and wedge yourself in place by friction. Climb too high though, and it widens out enough that it's hard to hold yourself in place, and you slide down—with a cheese-grater effect on your skin. |
